Glenn Andy Herbst, a spirited soul affectionately known as “Herbie” to those who knew and loved him, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2024, at the age of 77, surrounded by his family. Born on March 25, 1946, in Michigan, Glenn's life was a tapestry woven with the love of family, the joy of the great outdoors, and the satisfaction of a hard day's work.
A graduate of Soldiers Grove High School, Glenn formed friendships and values that would last a lifetime. His professional life was marked by dedication and service; he worked as a truck driver and later joined Premiere Co-op as a delivery driver. His work ethic was unmatched, and he took pride in every task he undertook.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Glenn's passions were simple and pure. He found solace in the tranquility of nature, whether it was camping under the stars or fishing in the quiet of dawn. His love for the outdoors was only matched by his love for his family and friends, with whom he spent countless cherished moments.
Those who knew Glenn will remember him for his love of a cold beer and his culinary skills. A passion for cooking meant that gatherings with Glenn were never short of delicious food and hearty laughter. He had a stubborn and infectious spirit, rumored to be seen dancing on a stump to the delight of anyone present to witness it.
As we bid farewell to Glenn “Herbie” Herbst, we celebrate a life lived fully and with gusto. He has left an indelible mark on the hearts of his family and friends, and his legacy will continue to inspire joy and camaraderie for generations to come. We take comfort in knowing that Glenn is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who have gone before him.
