Gordon Anderson, age 91 of Viroqua, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010. Gordon L. Anderson, age 91 of Viroqua, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at his home. He was born on April 14, 1919 to Casper and Suzanna (Moseng) Anderson and has lived his entire life within a two mile radius. He was a life member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and on August 14, 1954 he was united in marriage to Kathryn Skrede. She preceded him in death on August 2, 1999, and for the last three years of her life while suffering from Alzheimers, Gordon made nearly daily trips to the nursing home to be by her side. Gordon was a farmer and had a deep appreciation for the land and the seasons. He enjoyed reading the daily paper and the weekly Broadcaster. He listened to the old time music on WVRQ and also listened to church services on Sunday mornings. Gordon was the longtime sexton of the Belgium Ridge Cemetery, and has more recently shared that responsibility with his son. He is survived by his son, Conrad (Peggy) Anderson of Viroqua; one grandson, Daniel Anderson of Viroqua; nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn and brother, Norman. Blessed be our memory of Gordon L. Anderson. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua. The Rev. Margaret Eiben Hoversten and The Rev. Lindsay Paul Jordan will officiate with burial in the Belgium Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday after 10:00 a.m. at the church. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
