Gordon C. Clemment, age 75 of Westby, died Monday, February 18, 2013. Gordon C. Clemment, age 75 of Westby, died Monday, February 18, 2013 at his home. He was born on May 27, 1937 to Clarence and Nora (Haugen) Clemment. On April 6, 1957 he was united in marriage to Carol Eitland. Gordon retired from Mobil Oil in LaCrosse at age 55 and enjoyed golfing. He was a member of the Viroqua Country Club and was proud of his "hole-in-one". Gordon and Carol had golfed in Myrtle Beach, SC during their 21 winter trips to that area. Through Carols work at Stefferud Equipment, they traveled to Rome in March of 1996. During the summer program at Westby Elementary, groups of students would make their way to the neighborhood barn where Gordon delighted in helping the kids learn about the horses. In addition to his wife, Carol, Gordon is survived by two sons: Rick (Stephanie) Clemment and Steve Clemment; two grandsons: Chad (Danielle) Clemment and Chris (Dawn) Clemment; one granddaughter, Angela (Jon Schmitz) Krattiger; three great-grandchildren: Hayden Clemment, Jackson Clemment and Hudson Clemment; two brothers: Richard (Margaret) Clemment and David (Rachel) Clemment; three sisters-in-law: Diane Stenslien, Dorothy Clemment and Judy (John) McEachran; one brother-in-law, Marlin (Pat) Eitland; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special neighbors, David and Kay Vosseteig and family. He was preceded in death by his parents: mother and father-in-law, Emma and Leon Eitland; one sister, Celia Running; one brother, Virgil Clemment; one brother-in-law, Stewart Stenslien; and one sister-in-law, Dee Eitland. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethesda Lutheran Brethren Church in Westby. Pastor Paul Tjelta will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby.
