Gordon L. Wallace

Westby / Viroqua Gordon L. Wallace, age 96, died Wednesday April 26, 2017. Gordon Wallace, 96, of Viroqua, passed away on April 26, 2017 at Norseland Nursing Home in Westby. He was born at home on August 18, 1920 to Clinton and Cora (Running) Wallace. He was united in marriage to Lucille Davidson on August 18, 1952. They farmed in the township of Viroqua for 34 years prior to moving to Viroqua in 1986. He was a charter member of the Bethlehem Baptist in Viroqua. Gordon loved playing musical instruments of all types; the banjo, the mandolin, and even the violin to often times accompany himself singing. He also loved animals and would often go to horse shows and he loved Beagles. He is survived by: Jim Wallace (Siren), Sharon (Jack) Torpy of Janesville, Shelby (Gordon) Swiggum of Sturgeon Bay, and Kaye (Gary) Muth of Rockford IL. Also many Cora Runnings families and yearly get together. He was preceded in death by: his wife Lucille Wallace, and daughters Colleen Ann, Shirley Eagle, Audrey Simon, and Betty Stalsberg, a brother Clayton Wallace, and nephew Harlan Wallace. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday May 1, 2017 at the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Viroqua. Pastor Roy Tellier will officiate with burial to follow in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call during a visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10 to 11 also at the church.
