Gregory Lunde, 61, of Westby, died Wednesday, October 19, 2016. Gregory Lunde, 61, of Westby, died Wednesday, October 19, 2016. Greg was born to Roger and Dorothy (Engh) Lunde on April 1, 1955 in Norfolk, VA where his father was stationed with the Navy. He was baptized and confirmed at the Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Greg graduated from Westby High School, UW Madison, and Drake University Law School; after which he practiced law for most of his life passing both the WI and IA bar exams. He was a mentor to the U.S. Ski Association serving as the National Committee Member for ski jumping and Nordic combined, a Central Junior Development coach, assistant competition secretary at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah for both ski jumping and Nordic combined, life member of the Snowflake Ski and Golf Club where he served on the Board of Directors and as competition secretary, and a life member of the Westby Rod and Gun Club. He was passionate about his ski jumping family, golfing buddies, fishing friends, and hunting partners; but his life truly revolved around his precious grandchildren. Greg is survived by his mother, Dorothy Lunde; two brothers: Randy (Bonnie) Lunde, and Cory (Christine) Lunde; two children: Adam and Amanda Lunde, and Sara Lunde- Fanelli; and their mother Nannette Schaupp; grandchildren: Destiny and Jadah Lunde, Dessa and Chase and their father, Kyle Fanelli; nieces and nephews: Yanicka, Kjersta, and Christopher Lunde; along with many cousins which include his special hunting buddy, Russ. Greg was preceded in death by his father, Roger Lunde; grandparents: Eddie and Anna (Hanson) Lunde, and Selmer Engh and Eleanor (Rude) Paulson. A visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Monday, October 24, 2016 at the Vosseteig Funeral Home in Westby. Pastor Mark Clements will officiate a prayer service at 6:45.
