Guy James Bieri

Guy James Bieri, 63, of Viroqua, WI, passed away unexpectedly on September 21, 2025, due to sudden medical complications.

Guy was born on May 31, 1962, in Madison, WI, to Ruby Stone. He was later adopted and lovingly raised by his father, Duane Bieri. From a young age, Guy dreamed of becoming a firefighter—so much so that every Friday night at 7 p.m., he had to be home to watch Emergency! That childhood dream became a reality later in life when he proudly served with the Viroqua Fire Department until his health no longer allowed him to continue.

Guy spent much of his career as a truck driver, sharing his love for the open road and the beauty of the country with those closest to him. Known for his big heart and deep devotion to family and friends, Guy was the kind of person who made everyone feel like family. To many, he was simply "Uncle Guy," whether related by blood or not.

He is survived by his daughter, Chloe Alt; his nieces, Elizabeth (Ben) Larry, and Maylee (Chad) Whitt; and his nephew, Jules (Rachel) Finkler— all of whom he raised as his own. He is also survived by his sisters: Daisy (John) Bisco, Mary Henry, Helen (John) Fecht, Anna, and Marlene Bieri. In addition, Guy leaves behind 12 nieces and nephews, 27 great-nieces and great-nephews, and one very special great-great-nephew, Damian, whom he was thrilled to meet. He was also eagerly anticipating the arrival of another great-great-nephew in October.

Guy was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby; father, Duane; grandparents, Guy and Helen Stone; brothers, Roy and Arthur; sister, Betty; and friend, Shorty.

Guy will be remembered for his humor, loyalty, and unwavering love for those around him. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Online condolences may be expressed at www.vossfh.com.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 27, 2025, at noon at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in 123 W Decker St, Viroqua. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will take place in the Salem Ridge Cemetery, rural La Farge, followed by a luncheon at the Vosseteig Funeral Home in Westby, 708 S Main St.
