Haley Fauske, 18, of Westby, died Sunday, October 4, 2015. Haley Elaine Mae Fauske, age 18 of Westby, died October 4, 2015, from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle accident in La Crosse County. She was on her way home. Haley was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin on February 21, 1997, to Matt and Shelley Fauske. She was blessed with two older sisters, Brittany and Katelyn Fauske. Haley was born and raised on a farm outside of Westby where her love of animals was born. She attended the Westby Area School District where many teachers enjoyed her sense of wonder, love, and her ability to share her worldly vision. She graduated in January, 2015, as the Administrators and Board of Education approved her early graduation request. She was ready to move her life forward. Haley was outspoken and was always ready for a debate. She enjoyed watching documentaries, reading, learning new things, Pinterest, singing to the radio, slam poetry, and hanging out with her friends. Her favorite moment in life was ziplining through the rainforest. She said it was the most beautiful thing she had ever experienced. Haley shared her life with her parents, Matt Fauske and Shelley Fauske; sisters, Brittany and Katelyn Fauske; Mike and Alice Fauske her paternal grandparents; Iona Skrede her paternal great-grandmother; Garry and Sandra Brudos her maternal grandparents. She also shared her life with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly. She has someone special to share her time with now as she was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Sandra Brudos. Haley wanted to be an organic farmer and her grandmother loved gardening; what a beautiful garden they will have together. Haley had a spirit of life that radiated through her smile. She believed that everyone has a purpose in life, and by looking at the larger picture, everyone on our beautiful mother Earth is helping fulfill each others purpose; that we are one large purpose. She was only interested in the present and so lived her life in the present. She believed that her purpose in life was to nourish the world while nourishing her soul. She wanted to share her experiences and beliefs throughout this world, trying to change this world for the better as she bettered herself. Haley believed that by loving herself she was helping the world grow. Haley had written these beliefs in a senior English paper. Her paper also stated the following, in her own words; "When people die young . . .I think that might have been their purpose, not to sound morbid, but their purpose wasnt to die, but to show the people around them what death is like, so then, they can go and finish their purpose..and so on." Haley nourished the world with her love, in hopes that everyone will fulfill their purpose. She was a sunflower who looked towards the sun. Haley was an organ donor and will help many people to continue their purpose as she had completed fulfilling her own.
