Harold Jones, 82, of Viroqua, died Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Harold E. Jones, age 82 of Viroqua, died Tuesday, May 26, 2015. He was born on April 27, 1933 on the family farm, town of Franklin, Vernon County, WI to Harvey and Eliza (Hill) Jones. Harold was an independent over-the-road semi driver for several years. He also drove over-the-road semis for different companies; The last was Heding Truck Service, Inc. in Union Center, Wi for 15 plus years. Harold is survived by his wife Patricia (Mellem) of 40 years; his son, John (Sheila) Schwartz of Fifield, WI; daughter Julie Schwartz of Milwaukee; step-children: Sheila (George) Thelen of Viroqua, Richard (Sue) Knutson of Bradford, PA, Scott (Teresa) Knutson of LaFarge, Paul Knutson of La Jolla, CA, Amy (Knutson) Lippe of Sparta, WI; six step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Mitzi. He is also survived by his sisters: Orla Simonson of Readstown and Cleo Yttri of Viroqua; brothers-in-law, Adolph Stevenson of Ferryville and Leon Mellem of Viroqua; sister-in-law, Karen (Conrad) McGarry of Nekoosa; many other family members and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Harlan; three sisters: June Stevenson, Marion Winger, and Merle Krogan; five brothers-in-law: Alton Anderson, Orvin Yttri, Everett Simonson, Lester "Diz" Winger and Michael Mellem; other family members. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Pastors Steven Minnema and Steven Fossum will officiate. Burial will take place in Brush Hollow Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Online condolences may be offered at www.vossfh.com.
