He was born on June 17, 1944, to the late Arvid “Hap” and June (Roberts) Nofsinger. On August 8, 1964, he married the love of his life, Linda Fish, at Burr Wesleyan Church in rural Hillsboro. Together they had been foster parents since 1966, and were recognized as Vernon County Caregivers of the Year for 2008, until Linda’s passing. Harold continued to be a foster parent until his passing.
Harold had farmed the family farm until 1972, then going into construction work with his dad, together they operated Nofsinger Nofsinger Construction. Eric’s love of music had fueled Harold and Linda to travel and support his talent which allowed them to grow their friendships past Wisconsin. Harold and Linda loved spending all their spare time together, whether it was planting flowers, going on late night rides, or building up their landscape at their home. He was the most selfless person anyone would ever meet, always putting others before himself.
Harold is survived by his children: Julie (Phil) Greenland, Patty Pasold, Connie Bekkum (Dan), Eric (Tracy) Nofsinger, and Nikki Larson; his sister, Virginia (Tony) Bilek; grandchildren: Andrea, Jessica, Kyle, Katie, Bobby, Christie, Devin, Aaron Joe, Scott, Mark, Torger, Aaron, Kelsi, Brady, Gabe, Jeremiah, Addy, and Jackson; 18 great-grandchildren; special foster child, Lynette Sanders; bonus family member, Kurt Anderson; lifelong friends, Rick and Zell Spry; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
