Harriet O. Torgerson

Harriet Torgerson passed away at the Norseland Nursing Home in Westby on August 7, 2013. She was born September 30, 1922 to Peter and Emma (Role) Hoff. She was baptized and confirmed by Reverend Holum at Vang Lutheran Church. Survivors include six children: Linda (Bob) Evans of Viroqua, Carolyn (Roger) Anderson of Coon Valley, Darlene Sullivan of Cashton, Deanna (Jake) Jacobson of Chaseburg, Monte (Darlene) Torgerson of Westby, and Sherry (Tom) Gibbons of Hustler. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Maurice, a daughter in infancy, her brother Clarence Hoff, her sisters Alice Hoff and Edna Schultz, and a son-in-law Jim Sullivan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Westby or the Westby Fire Department. A special thank you to the staff at Norseland Nursing Home for their wonderful care. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Westby. Pastor John Dumke will officiate. Burial will follow in Our Saviors Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 11. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorial contributions may be made to Our Saviors Lutheran Church or the Westby Fire Department. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
