Harry Jacobson, 86, of Westby died Sunday, April 25, 2010. Harry Jacobson, 86, of Westby died Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Norseland Nursing Home in Westby. Harry was born in Coon Valley on April 5, 1924 to Elmer and Regine (Erickson) Jacobson. He graduated from Westby High School and then served his country in the United States Army during World War II. On December 31, 1946 Harry was united in marriage to Beatrice 'Betty' Galstad in Westby at Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. After marriage they made their home near Westby where Harry worked at the U.S. Post Office for 35 years. He was a life member of the Snowflake Ski Club, American Legion, Westby VFW and the Westby Rod and Gun Club. Harry is survived by his wife Beatrice 'Betty'; children Sharon (Lee) Wrede of Norcross, GA, Cheryl Jacobson of Sun Prairie, Scott (Dianne) Jacobson of Rhinelander, Steven (Jenny)Jacobson of Sheboygan, and Charles (Shari) Jacobson of Viroqua; and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ellsworth, Ervin, Floyd and Ralph Jacobson; and sister Stella Whiteman. A special Thank You to his friends who made his daily trip to play cards at the Rod and Gun, and his stops at the Westby Bakery enjoyable. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday April 28, at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor Julie Wollman will officiate with burial in Coon Prairie Cemetery. Graveside military honors will be conducted by Westby VFW Post #155 and Westby Legion Post #8021. Friends may call at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S.
