Harry Harold Sutton entered into final rest with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at the age of 87. He was born June 4, 1934, to Della (Hurda) Sutton and Floyd Sutton Sr. in the Township of Seneca, Crawford County, WI. He was raised and educated on a number of farms and attended schools in that area, graduating from Seneca High School in May of 1952. After spending two summers on the home farm and one winter with Findorf Construction Co. in Madison, WI, on September 28th, 1953, Harry joined the U.S. Marine Corps for three years. After graduating from basic training in December 1953, in San Diego, CA, he was assigned and served with the 1st Tank BTLN 1st Marine Div. Camp in Pendleton, CA. He spent one year from 1954 to 1955, overseas in the Korean Conflict south of DMZ. On July 28th, 1956, he was united in marriage to Joyce M. Springborn of De Soto, WI at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Prairie du Chien. The first two months of marriage were spent in Fallbrook, CA while Harry finished his enlistment and was honorably discharged from service on September 29th, 1956. Upon returning to Wisconsin with his wife, they made a home and started a family of three children in the Seneca area. After several years of helping on the home farm and being employed at Johnson One Stop Shopping in Seneca for five years, on September 28, 1963, the Harry Sutton family of five moved to Burlington, WI, Racine County, to set down roots to deal with life’s adventures and supporting a family. During this time, he was employed for a short time by Jacobsen Lawn and Turf Equipment Co of Racine. He spent over 20 years at Eaton Dynamatic Industrial Dives, Inc. in Kenosha as a machinist and electronic technician, 13 years at HyPro Inc. of Waterford, WI as a machinist, and the last five years as a repair person and handyman until retiring in 2001. Harry was a union member of UAAW local 34 for over 20 years, a faithful member of Cross Lutheran Church of Burlington for over 37 years, a member of Marine Corps League “Fox River Detachment,” and an active member of Kansasville VFW Post #7924. Harry and his wife made their home for the last eight years in Racine Co. at Hickory Haven Park, rural Union Grove, WI. Then, they moved back to their childhood area in Crawford and Vernon Counties in June 2001, making their home in Viroqua, WI. Harry and his wife found a new worship home and became members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where they spent many delightful, comforting hours. He also became a lifetime member of the VFW Post #8021 in Westby and later of the VFW Post #3032 in Viroqua, a member of Eagles Aerie 2707 in Viroqua and Viroqua Bluegrass Gospel Music Association, singing at many of the local care centers and churches singing with the Senior Sentimental Singers Choir Group of Vernon County. Harry is survived by his wife, Joyce; one sister, Janice Kramer of Eastman; two daughters, Barb Ann Elliott (Andy) of Atalissa, IA, and Linda Aguilar (John) of Waddell, AZ; one brother, Ronald (Marilyn) Sutton of Eastman; six grandchildren: Mindy, Matthew, Aaron, Eli, Sara, and Vincent; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
