Helen A. Hendrickson

Helen Hendrickson, age 94, of Viroqua passed away peacefully Monday, October 25, 2021, surrounded by her children. She was born December 12, 1926, to the late Alex and Helena (Eskestrand) Nelson. Helen graduated from Viroqua High School and immediately started working. On September 30, 1947, she married her hubby, Palmer Hendrickson, at the La Crosse Court House. After they got married, they rented a few farms until they moved to the Hendrickson Family farm in 1954, in West Prairie. On the Hendrickson Family farm, they raised their five children: Adrian, Marcia, Shelby, Luther, and Lonna. Helen and Palmer farmed until Palmer’s death in 1994, when she sold the farm and moved into Viroqua. Helen loved baking, gardening (especially her special red roses), puzzles of any kind, winning at any game she played, and her family above all. She was known for having a great faith that was the most important thing to her and having a coffee pot that was always on for family and friends. Helen is survived by her five children: Adrian (Kathleen) Hendrickson and their children Gregory, Emily, and Susan, Marcia (Gary) Davig and their children Mark and Mike, Shelby (Errett) Cox and their children Sean and Bryan, Luther (Hazel) Hendrickson and their children Jake, Heidi, and Caleb, and Lonna Munson and her children, Amanda, Melonie, and Mindy; 16 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jeanne Nelson and Margaret Hickok; brother-in-law, Arthur Hendrickson; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 47 years, Palmer Hendrickson; brothers: Noel, Earl, and Chester; twin sisters: Sylvia and Synora; and many special brothers and sisters-in-law. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 28, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home. Per Helen’s request, a private funeral service will be held for her immediate family with burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, Helen requested memorials go to a charity or organization of your choice. Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving Helen's family. 123 W.
