Helen Augusta Hornby

Helen Augusta Hornby, Dec. 5, 2005 Helen Augusta Hornby, age 92, died Monday, Dec. 5, 2005 after collapsing suddenly on Dec 3rd as she and her daughter, Joanne, were preparing for volunteer work. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and aunt; a tireless volunteer and a caring friend. She was certainly an asset to her community. Helen was born April 17, 1913 in Bellingham, MN, 1 of 10 children of R.J. and Amanda (Bartmann) Henrichs. She was 5 years old when the family permanantly returned to the Marshfield, WI area. In 1930 she married Alfred Jason (Jake) Hornby and moved to Viroqua; they had 9 children, 7 of whom survive. They moved to Kenosha in 1944 when Jake was doing war work. In 1961, Jake retired and they returned to Viroqua. She is survived by her sister, Dorothea Schuh of Antigo, brothers, Clayton Henrichs of Columbus, & Vernon (Mae) Henrichs of Caro, MI; her children: Robert (Alice) of Land O Lakes and Kenosha, Audrey (Kenneth) Nys of Green Bay, Dolores (Don) Farrington of Kenosha, Joanne of Viroqua, Carolyn (Horst) Dressler of Wauwatosa, A.James (Carol) of Black River Falls, & Jacqueline (Bryce) Kimrey of Concord, NC. She is also survived by 13 Grandchildren: Debbi (Kahlid) Ansari, Ron (Gloria) Hornby, Roxann Nys, Joe Nys, Janice Martin, Nancy (Bob) Hacker, Donna (Ralph) Buchanan, Darla Johnson, Monika Dressler, Matthias (Jennifer) Dressler, Amy (Oscar) Uribe, Jason Hornby, Cara (Paul) Gilbertson; 20 great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, two infant sons, an infant granddaughter, a grandson, and a grandson-in-law.
