Howard C. Keenlance

Howard Claude Keenlance, age 69, of Viroqua, WI, passed away peacefully at his home on August 3, 2022. Howard was born on May 20, 1953, to the late Claude and JoAnne (Williams) Keenlance in Janesville, WI. Howard grew up in Janesville, WI. During his youth, Howard enjoyed hunting, fishing, mechanics, and playing guitar. He graduated from Parker High School in 1972. On August 3, 1974, Howard married Debbie Volden at Vang Lutheran Church in Westby, WI. Howard worked for General Motors in Janesville, WI for 20 years. After building many Chevys on the assembly line, Howard made the decision to only drive Ford vehicles! Howard loved to hunt and fish. Whitetail deer and walleye were his favorite to pursue. His knowledge was vast, and he truly enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren his skills. He enjoyed playing cards, spending time with his family at the lake, and shootin’ the shit. Howard was always so proud of his children and grandchildren. Howard is survived by his wife of 48 years, Debbie; his three children and their spouses: Heath (Brandi) Keenlance, Aaron (Karissa) Keenlance, and Andrea (Chris) Fortney; 11 grandchildren: Taya, Halle, Lily, Owen, Gray, Kiarra, Amaya, Alyx, Will, Aiden and Ethan; brothers and sisters-in-law: Robert (Joy) Volden, Kenneth Nyhus, and Doris Volden; a special uncle, Marvin Keenlance and his friend, Darlene Woodman; and Aunt Beverly Shekey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and JoAnne; in-laws, Hjalmer and Palma Volden; a grandson, Matthew Keenlance; as well as many other family members. A Prayer Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Vosseteig Funeral Home in Westby. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Howard will be laid to rest at the Vang Cemetery. A lunch to follow at S3904A Bakkom Road, Viroqua after the burial. Vosseteig Funeral Home & Crematory is serving Howard's family 708 S.
