Hubert Bud Parr

Hubert "Bud" Parr, 84, died on Monday, March 20, 2017. Hubert "Bud" Wayne Parr, age 84 of DeSoto and formerly of rural Westby, died Monday, March 20, 2017 at his home. He was born on January 20, 1933 to Hugh "Tate" and Olga (Martinson) Parr. He graduated from Westby High School and attended Vernon Co Normal School and received his bachelor degree from U.W. LaCrosse. Bud served in the U.S. Air Force and was in Japan during the Korean Conflict. On June 2, 1963 he was united in marriage to Yvonne Myhre. He had taught in Trempealeau and retired from Kickapoo Area Schools. Bud was very active in the Dell United Methodist Church and had been the sexton of the cemetery for many years. He also helped with Grandmas Attic in Dell. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne; two children: Jeff (Bonnie) of Ferryville, and Amy (David) Baxley of Onalaska; four grandchildren: Brianna Oliver, Jared Parr, Brandon Parr, and Desmond Baxley; one great-granddaughter, Charlotte Mae Cockrum; two sisters: Marie Pervenanze and Nancy Bohland; sister-in-law, Linda Parr; special family friend, Jeanne Kunert; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Tyrone "Tip" Parr and one sister Shirley Laufenberg; three brothers-in-law, Don Laufenberg, Richard "Dick" Pervenanze and Marion Bohland. Blessed be our memory of Hubert "Bud" Parr. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Dell United Methodist Church. Pastor Jim Aniol will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in the Dell Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at the church. Online condolences may be offered at www.VossFH.com.
