Irene H. Munson, age 88 of Westby, died Thursday, March 15, 2012. 96 800x600 Irene H. Munson, age 88 of Westby, died Thursday, March 15, 2012. She was born on August 20, 1923 to Rudolph and Minnie (Blihovde) Jaeger. On February 28, 1942 she was united in marriage to Harold Munson. In addition to farming with her husband, she worked at Westby Farmers Union Coop and Nelson Agri Center in Viroqua. She was a member of the Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church and WELCA. She is survived by three daughters: Karen (Terry) Thomas, Gloria (Paul) Van Rooy and Ann Alexander; daughter-in-law, Sue Munson; five granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Roger (Pat) Jaeger and one sister, Helen Running Phillipps. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, her son, Duane Munson; two sisters, Ruth (Roy) Larson and Ida Mae (Warren) Peterson; one brother, Earl (Elaine) Jaeger; and her son-in-law, George Alexander. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Pastor Dennis Hallemeier will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday after 10:00 a.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby.
