Irene H. Wubbenhorst, 88, of Viola died Wednesday, April 14, 2010 Irene H. "Nanny" Wubbenhorst, age 88 of Viola, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010 in Viroqua. She was born on August 6, 1921 to Clarence and Minnie (Anderson) Guist, and was raised at Manning in Kickapoo Township. On August 22, 1945 she was united in marriage to George Wubbenhorst and together they farmed. Irene drove children to school. She also was a longtime Avon Lady. Nanny enjoyed her grandchildren and her special great-grandchildren, Reagan and Garrisen brought her joy while she was a resident of Vernon Manor in Viroqua. She is survived by one daughter, Jean (Dennis) Hanson of Viroqua; six grandchildren: Gail (Robert) Klinkner, Grady Wubbenhorst, Gregg (fianc Courtney) Wubbenhorst, Todd (Alyce) Wubbenhorst Oliver, Jody (Jordan) Bendel, and Darren (Theresa) Hanson; nine great-grandchildren: Reagan and Garrison Klinkner, Aymie (Colin) Wedwick, Barrett Oliver, Ava, Cullen and Lilah Bendel, Elle Hanson, and Gracey Wubbenhorst; daughter-in-law, Judy Wubbenhorst; one sister, Pauline Olson of Soldiers Grove and one step-brother, Nolan (Julie) Turnmire of Readstown; nieces, nephews other relatives and her special niece, Kathy (Dave) Pickett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George; son Gary, granddaughter Genna Lynn Wubbenhorst; and one brother, Lavon Guist. Blessed be our memory of Irene Wubbenhorst. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Homes Henthorn Memorial Center, 129 S. Main (Hwy 56) in Viola. Pastor Gary Daines will officiate with burial in the Manning Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday afternoon from 1 to 4 p.m. and on Monday after 12:00 noon at the Vosseteig Funeral Homes Henthorn Memorial Center in Viola. The Vosseteig Funeral Home's Henthorn Memorial Center of Viola is serving the family.
