Iva Lea (Gilman) McCollough, age 93, passed to eternal rest on January 22, 2024, at Breeze Park Senior Living in St. Peters, Missouri.
Iva was born on September 4, 1930, to Earl and Mae (DeLap) Gilman in rural Vernon County, WI. She attended the small country school at Fairview and graduated from La Farge High School. She met and married her loving husband Edward McCollough, moving to La Crosse, WI where they spent many happy years raising their children. An avid gardener and cook, she cultivated beauty in both her garden and her kitchen. On many mornings, she could be found around the table, with good friends, at Coffee Klatch. A faithful servant of God, she was a long-standing member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, where she served with the kitchen crew, nursery and AAL. She lived a life sowing seeds of joy and reaping bountiful harvests of friendship and love.
In her later years, Iva spent time living with many of her children and enjoyed making friends in different parts of the country. Iva especially liked time spent with her grandchildren, of whom she was always so proud. Iva has passed on her loves of dancing, baking, playing cards, reading, and bowling to her children and grandchildren. Her quick wit and sense of humor brought smiles to the faces of everyone she met.
Left to honor Iva's memory are her siblings: Valdo 'Pete' (Shirley) Gilman and Sharon Rose-Drew; her children: Connie (Michael) Wyas of St. Charles, MO, Cindy Jacobs of Bluffton, SC, Karen Lloyd of Chicago, IL, Jeff (Jill) McCollough of Fort Wayne, IN and Janet McCollough of Faribault, MN; her six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Iva was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 61 years, Edward; her siblings: Earl Gilman Jr., Virgil Gilman, Shirley Marshall, DeAnna Johnson, William (Bill) Gilman, infant twin sisters Rita and Rae Gilman; and beloved son-in-law, Rick Jacobs.
Our family would like to extend thanks to the doctors, nurses and many staff members giving care and attention to our mother throughout the years.
