Jack Lee Millner

April 6, 1940 — February 13, 2022

Jack Lee Millner, age 81, of La Farge, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022. Jack had a sudden, unexpected passing at his home. Jack was surrounded by his family for his journey to join his beloved wife, Linda in Heaven. Jack was born on April 6, 1940, in Harvard, IL, to Noil and Elsie (Wagner) Millner. Jack met the love of his life, Linda Kay Sorenson, and they were married on January 15, 1962. Jack began his marital life building his family in Harvard, IL, where they had started their family and had Son, Jack F. Millner, and Daughters, Malinda Millner and Mary Millner. He then moved his family to Rockbridge, WI, and later to La Farge, WI in 1970, to his forever homestead where their last Daughter, Nancy (Millner) Green was born. Jack truly loved his wife, Linda very much and worked wholeheartedly to give his life to her dream. His family meant everything to him and he thoroughly enjoyed life even more as his family grew, as his Grandchildren came on in the home that built us as one. Jack was a "Jack of All trades". He started out with farming and salvaging at the homestead for many years. Jack was a very hard worker and continued with his passion from sun up to sun down every day. Jack had gained many friends who came and worked at his farm throughout the years. Those friends became part of our family and made many memories for years to come after. Jack later in life started working with Earl Nelson. Earl was more than that though to Jack. He was his dear, longtime friend; his second home away from home. Jack was a well-known citizen in the La Farge community, an "Icon" to many. Jack was a one-of-a-kind guy, Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle, Great Uncle, Friend, and Mentor to the young and old. Some of Jack's favorite pass times were family get-togethers, he enjoyed his Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, attending Harvard Milk Day's taking him back in time in his hometown with all his family reuniting, placing flowers on the resting places of his loved ones with Linda, Oreos, and enjoying the company of their dog, Daisy. Phil & Deb's Town Tap was a daily stop for breakfast and lunch. Jack kept the whole crew on their toes on his demands in his comical way that made them love him as well. Valentine's Day always held a special place in his heart with Linda and gave meaning in Jack and Linda's love story. Jack will be sorely missed and survived by his Son, Jack F. Millner, and Daughters, Malinda Millner, Mary Millner, and Nancy (Millner) Green; Grandchildren, Brandon Millner, Ashley (Melvin) Fish, Dylan Green, Billy Green, Maria Green, Bryan (Millner) Bixby, Dalton (Bethany) Millner and Heidi Orr; Great-Grandchildren, Jazmine Fish, Macey Fish, Liam Stroops, Evelyn Millner, Gannon Millner, Myla Millner, Aubrey Orr, Caleb Orr, Savannah Menge and Millie Orr; his Siblings, Darlene (Harvey) Roberts, Peggy (Richard) Pierce and Dee Millner; Brother-in-law, Terry Bopp, Denny (Pam) Sorenson; Sister-in-law, Brenda (Sornenson) Kratzer (Glen); Close cousin, Jim Millner (Kris); as well as many more family members and anyone that ever met him that became family. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Noil and Elsie (Wagner) Millner; Wife, Linda (Sorenson) Millner; Siblings, Hank Millner, Roger Millner, Betty Webner, and Sandra (Chuck) Boviall; In-laws, Vilas and Aletha (Visgar) Sorenson; Siblings-in-law, Johnnie (Wava) Visgar, Eddie Sorenson, Janice Bopp, and Mary (Bob) Cavin. Many thanks to the La Farge EMTs, Hillsboro St. Joseph Hospital, caring neighbors, Pastor Mark Phillips, Vosseteig Funeral Home, Pastor Bob Streeter, and all that attributed in thoughtful calls and messages about the impact that Jack made on them. Special thanks to Phil Campbell and the staff at Phil & Deb's Town Tap for honoring Jack during the time of service when his viewing was held; for them to attend and show their respect in support of our family. Plans are underway for a celebration of life to be held later this spring of 2022. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.vossfh.com. Vosseteig Funeral Home & Crematory in La Farge is serving Jack's family. 203 N. State Street La Farge, WI 54639 608-625-4244
