Jacquelyn J. "Jacquie" Hanson, 65 of Westby died on Sunday, April 11, 2010. Jacquelyn J. "Jacquie" Hanson, 65 of Westby passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center in LaCrosse after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Jacquie was born on February 26, 1945 in Madison to Fred and Elsie (Schadler) Nelson and was baptized and confirmed at Luther Memorial Church in Madison. She graduated from West High School in Madison and attended San Diego Medical College and became a medical technician for a cardiologist in San Diego. Jacquie enjoyed her family and friends; decorating her home; running her craft business and special time with her mother. She enjoyed attending the Westby United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Gregg to whom she was wed on December 4, 1976; her son, Michael and his wife, Amber who were married in February 2010; two brothers: Fred "Skip" Nelson, Jr. and his wife Urai, and Douglas Nelson and his wife, Theresa; one brother-in-law: Gary (Karen) Hanson; a niece: Rebecca Hanson; mother-in-law: Frances Hanson: and cousins: Phil Schadler and his wife Sherry, Carol Learnard, Janice (nee Schadler) and her husband, Jerry, Bev Purpus and Cliff Schadler. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Elsie Nelson-Pickett and her father, Fred Nelson, Sr.; her aunt Verna Sterling; her uncle Al Schadler and his wife Dorothy; and her beloved god-parents, Herb and Emma Ahrens. Blessed be our memory of Jacquie Hanson. A visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. with funeral services at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the Westby United Methodist Church, 202 E. State Street, with Pastor George Shick officiating. Family and friends are also welcome to attend the Committal/Burial Service at 2:30 p.m. at the Roselawn Memorial Park, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona, Wisconsin (Madison). Pastor Daniel Lindsay will offiiate. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
