Jacquelyn (Jackie) Nelson of Westby, WI passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026 at Norseland Nursing Home surrounded by her family. Jackie was born on July 12, 1935 to Ethel (Ekern) and Jack Lawrence.

Jackie was united in Marriage to Harold J Nelson on July 18, 1953 at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church in Westby, WI. To this marriage four daughters were born.

Jackie attended Western Wisconsin Technical College in 1969 graduating as an LPN. She worked in the Emergency Department at Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua for 23 years. During this time she also assisted with the Hospice Program at Vernon Memorial Hospital and was Assistant Coroner of Vernon County. Upon retiring she worked for 5 years with Dr. Woody. After retirement Jackie and Harold enjoyed many years traveling and enjoying the south during the winter months.

Jackie’s greatest joys were her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters Dawn (Michael) Skrede, DeAnne Nelson and Kala (Mark) Muenzenberger. She is further survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren Jenna (Randy) Kuderer and Madilyn Sloan, Matthew Skrede and Zander (Jenny Garves), Hally and Nolan Skrede, Andrew (Sarah) Nelson and Kaydyn and Maximus Nelson. She is further survived by her special cousins Sandy (George) Nelson, Betty (Ron) Suiter, Kathy (David) Stefferud, Jim (Paula) Ekern, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Jackie is further survived by special friends Michelle Roers and Dan and Donna Nelson.

Jackie is preceded in death by her husband, daughter Kari Nelson, her parents and sister Donna Marie.

At Jackie’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family burial is planned for Tuesday March 31, 2026. Vosseteig Funeral Home is assisting the family.
