James "Jim" Lindvig Jr., 60, of Viroqua/Chetek, WI died Tuesday, February 22, 2011. James "Jim" Lindvig Jr., 60, of Viroqua/Chetek, WI died Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at his daughters home. Jim was born in Viroqua on November 2, 1950 to James and Arlene (Parker) Lindvig, and later graduated from Kickapoo High School. On October 10, 1969 he was united in marriage to Cindy Benson in Black River Falls. Jim served during Vietnam with the 82nd Airborne Paratroopers and after the military worked for Erect-A-Tube Construction building airplane hangers. In 2005 Jim and Cindy built their retirement home and Jim spent his time Fishing, Hunting, Snowmobiling and riding his Harleys. Jim was a member of Buck Lake Sportsmans Club, a lifetime member of VFW Post 5480, and also enjoyed spending time at Ponderosa and TJs with friends. Jim especially loved spending time with and sharing beautiful memories with his wife, daughter and grandchildren. Jim is survived by his wife Cindy; daughter DiDi Lindvig-Springborn; grandchildren Alexandria Marie and Harley James Lindvig Springborn; sister Ellen (Ron) Paul, of Black river Falls. Jim was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Marie Benson; his mother and father; and brother Orvil Lindvig. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 5 at the Kickapoo Valley Reserve. The Reverend Lindsay Paul Jordan will officiate. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the Reserve. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
