James M Oium, 64, of Cashton, died Sunday, August 24, 2014. He was born on September 6, 1949 in LaCrosse to Lawrence and Elizabeth (Manske) Oium. He graduated from LaFarge High School and served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Following his service to his country, he worked at ORC, Pine Valley Meats, and Webster Hardwoods. He is survived by his siblings: Calvin (Joyce) Oium of Sparta, Audrey McNatt of Janesville, Eugene (Phyllis) Oium of LaFarge, David (Toni) Oium of Cashton and Patricia (David) Olson of Stoughton; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Lawrence and Elizabeth and his grandparents: Martin and Alma Oium and George and Ella Manske. Blessed be our memory of James M. Oium Funeral services with military rites will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Sandhill Lutheran Church, rural LaFarge. Pastor Kevin Lawver will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby.
