James Milton Mcintosh

James Milton McIntosh was born April 30, 1958, to Donald and Beverly McIntosh of Viroqua, Wisconsin. He passed away at the age of 65 on January 23, 2024, in Vero Beach, Florida.

Jim was a graduate of Viroqua Senior High School and went on to excel in the field of auto-mechanics after attending Western Wisconsin Technical Institute in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Jim owned the property on Viroqua’s Main Street, formerly a gas station, which he donated to the City of Viroqua and later became the site of the Viroqua Area Veterans Memorial Park.

In 1986, Jim moved to Vero Beach, Florida. In 2003, Jim married Kris Herfel of Adams-Friendship, Wisconsin in Vero Beach, FL. Jim’s passion was working and repairing anything with an engine or moving parts; cars, trucks, boats, and ATVs were his specialties. Jim also loved boating in Florida and was proud to cruise up and down the Indian River in one of his Scarab boats.

Jim is survived by his wife, Kris (Herfel) McIntosh of Vero Beach, Florida; his two daughters, Jennifer McIntosh and Lindsay McIntosh, both from the Madison, Wisconsin area; his brother, David McIntosh of Corpus Christi, Texas; his sister, Deborah McIntosh of Fort Collins, Colorado; three grandchildren; one niece; and two nephews.

A celebration of life with his extended family and friends will be held in Viroqua this summer on August 13, 2024, and details will be announced at a later date.
