Janette Eileen Kinsey, 79 of Viola, died on Monday, November 29, 2010. Janette Eileen Kinsey, 79, of Viola, passed away peacefullly at home on Monday, November 29, 2010, following a lengthy illness. Janette was born in Richland County on October 29th, 1931 to Ralph and Esther (Uischner) Ballwahn. She attended the Upper Camp Creek Primary School, then Viola High School, graduating in 1949. In May of 1951, Janette married Leroy Kinsey. Together, Janette and Leroy raised their family and operated a family dairy farm until their retirement in 1986. They moved into Viola from their dairy farm property in 1996, making Richland County Janette's home for her entire life. In their retirement, they were able to enjoy and share their mutual passion for fishing, sharing their bounty with family and many great friends they made along the way. Janette's interest in genealogy and countless hours of compiling information left her family a wonderful history to enjoy; binders of family photographs, fishing adventures and others of local news interest. Janette is survived by her husband, Leroy, of Viola, 4 children, Colleen Kinsey (William Putze), of Readstown, Dan (Patty) Kinsey, of LaFarge, Leon (Lynda) Kinsey, of Campobello, SC, Avis (John) Gee of Mount Vernon, IA; 7 grandchildren, Neil Joholski, Cynthia Joholski, Nicole (Jonathan) Stakston, Courtney (Matt) Brockway, Jaclyn Kinsey, Amelia Gee and Jennifer Gee; and 7 great-grandchildren, Ryanne, Lane, Anders, Audrey, Estella, Maverick and Sylvia; and a sister, Virginia Wiesmueller, of Viroqua. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Alan Ballwahn and Marvin Ballwahn, and a granddaughter, Sarah Gee. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2010 at the Vosseteig Funeral Homes Henthorn Memorial Center, 129 S. Main, Viola. Pastor John Gannon will officiate with burial in the Viola Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate your support of the Kickapoo Valley Rescue Squad of Viola or the Vernon Memorial Hospice Building Fund. The Vosseteig Funeral Home's Henthorn Memorial Center of Viola is serving the family.
