Jeanne Barstad, 83, of Westby died Sunday, May 30, 2010. Jeanne L. Barstad, 83, of Westby died Sunday, May 30, 2010 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse. Jeanne was born on October 24, 1926 to Arthur and Alda (Anderson) Thorson. She graduated from Westby High School and on August 16, 1949 was united in marriage to Glenn Barstad. Jeanne was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, active in the WELCA and enjoyed spending her free time fishing. She had worked at Westby Coon Valley State Bank for over 30 years.Jeanne is survived by her husband Glenn; two children: Ned (Betty) Barstad of Westby and Beth (Stephen) Patterson, of Charlotte N.C.; five grandchildren: Seth Barstad of Westby, Jesse (Erin) Barstad of Westby; Abby (Sam) Hamilton, of Mt. Horeb, Cameron Patterson, of Charlotte, N.C., and Kirsten Patterson, of Charlotte, N.C.; two great-grandchildren: Reed Barstad of Westby, and Isaac Hamilton of Mt. Horeb. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Roger in infancy; and sister Ione Nelson.Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Westby. Pastor Gary Daines will officiate with burial in Our Saviors Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In Lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be made to Our Saviors Kitchen Project or the Bethel Butikk Food Pantry.The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
