Jeannie Lee Boardman

Ferryville - Jeannie Lee Kirby-Boardman, a devoted wife, daughter, sister, stepmom, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 3rd, 2025, at the age of 67. A self-proclaimed tough old bird, Jeannie was one in a million. She fought for her family and loved big. If she liked you, you knew it, and if she didn’t, you knew it. She loved her pup children and between her and Denny have saved dozens of animals and cared for them lovingly until their last days.

She was born in Viroqua, WI on April 26, 1957, to parents Robert and Jean Kirby. She is survived by her mother Jean, and siblings Kimmy, Robin, and RD (Lisa). Her father Robert, brother Bobby and Jimmy preceded her in death, blessed be their memory.

Jeannie will be remembered for the way she could light up a room with her laugh, the way she told the truth, loved beautiful plants, flowers, camping and Halloween and worked so very hard her whole life. Those who knew her best got-to call her spouggie, crane legs and mooch.

She is survived by her husband who loved her to the moon and back, Dennis Harry Boardman; her stepchildren Travis and Troy (Asha) Boardman who she was a fierce and loyal mom to since their early childhood years; her grandchildren Dravin, Xaviara, Oliver, Cole, Nolan and Evan Boardman (mom Angie), Ethan Alsobrooks, Chelsea O’Donnell and her great-grandchildren Liam, Calum O’Donnell and many nieces and nephews. She had nicknames for every one of them too!

A Celebration of Jeannie's Life will be held on Wednesday, March 12th, 2025, at the De Soto Community Center, 57 Crawford Street, DeSoto, WI 54624. Visitation will be 11am-1pm, with services and lunch to follow. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.vossfh.com.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local animal shelter in her name so many more animals can be saved and given good homes.
