Jeffrey Ivan Olson, age 44 of Westby, died Monday, December 26, 2016. Jeffrey Ivan Olson, age 44 of Westby, died Monday, December 26, 2016 at his home. Jeff was born on March 5, 1972 to Ivan and Gloria (Hooverson) Olson and was baptized and confirmed at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Jeff attended grades K-12 in Westby and graduated in the top of his class. He earned his bachelor degree in Mass Communications at U.W.-LaCrosse where he made the Deans List. He worked at WLSU and Target while attending school. After graduating in May, he immediately started working for LaCrosse Radio Group. He also was a news reporter for Cow 97 in Sparta. In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Lori (Gabriel) Vielma; nephews, Gabriel and Jonathan (Brittney) Vielma; nieces Adelyn and Reese and his cat, Snickers; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents: Laura and Hilmer Struxness; grandparents: Alf and Alida Olson and Clarence and Alverda Hooverson; uncles: Ardell and Harlan Olson. Blessed be our memory of Jeffrey Ivan Olson. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Pastor Pete Beckstrand will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. A visitation will be on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home.
