Jens Arlo Vosseteig, age 88 of Galesville, died Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at his home. He was born on January 12, 1929 in LaCrosse to Lawrence and Doris (Huckstad) Vosseteig. He graduated from Galesville High School in 1947 and in 1950 was drafted into the Army where he served with the 11th Air Borne in the Korean Conflict. On October 3, 1952 he was united in marriage to Jill E. Robb in Springfield, Tennessee. Jens loved the land and farmed most of his life. He had served on the National Corn Board. Jens was a member of the Decorah Masonic Lodge where he was a Past Master. In addition to his wife Jill, Jens is survived by one daughter, Jill Sue Vosseteig-Nash; three grandchildren: Beau Hershberger, Robbey Nash and Jens Nash; one brother, David (Kay) Vosseteig; two nephews: Jay (Cathy) Vosseteig and John Vosseteig; one niece, Elizabeth (Jason) Cheever; one brother-in-law, Tracy Robb and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; stillborn brother, Mark; daughter, Deborah Hershberger and sister-in-law, Betsy Robb. Blessed be our memory of Jens Vosseteig. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Galesville. Pastor Dave Hendrickson will officiate. Burial with military rites will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. with a Masonic Service at 10:15 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be directed to the Zion Lutheran Church or the charity of the donors choice.
