Jerald Eugene Cary

March 2, 1933 — October 20, 2006

Jerald Eugene Cary, age 73 of Cashton, passed away October 20, 2006 at Gundersen-Lutheran Medical Center following an illness with his family by his side. He was born on March 2, 1933 at home in rural Cashton to Philip and Josie (Clark) Cary. On September 19, 1953 he married Beth Thomas and together they farmed and raised their family. After they sold the farm and moved to Cashton, Jerald worked for the Town of Clinton as a highway patrolman and had a pastime of chauffeuring the Amish neighbors, making many friends. He is survived by his wife Beth of 53 years; two sons: Dan of Cashton and Bob (Heidi) of LaCrosse; three daughters: Janna (Mike) Olson, Deb (Tim) Hundt, and Anne (Steve) Miller, all of Cashton; 14 grandchildren: Victoria Cary, Zac Cary, Kelly Cary, Inga (Jim) Barnes, Kayla Olson, Angel (Martin) Mytas, Chuck Hundt, Cole Hundt, Caleb Hundt, Jake Miller, Samantha Miller, Jerad Cary, Jesse Cary, Shelby Cary; three great-grandchildren: Haley Barnes, Michael Barnes and Evan Cary; two brothers: Jack (Eunice) Cary of Cashton and Eddie (Joanne) Cary of Forest Lake, MN; one sister, Mary Bufton of LaFarge; his mother-in-law, Elva Thomas; and numerous relatives, friends and neighbors. Jerald was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Dell United Methodist Church. Pastor Jean Waldron will officiate with burial in the Dell Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Friends may also call at the church on Tuesday after 10:00 a.m. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
