Jerry David Mikkelson, 40, of Viola, died Saturday, March 13, 2010 Jerry David Mikkelson, 40, of Viola, died Saturday, March 13, 2010 as the result of an auto accident. He was born in Janesville, WI, on July 28, 1969 to Arden and Madonna (Clark) Mikkelson. Jerry was confirmed at St. Marys Catholic Church in Viroqua and graduated from the Viroqua High School. On December 19, 2006 he was united in marriage to Rebecca Tyo. Jerry worked at Nelson Muffler prior to working at S&S Cycle and has been a welder for 15 years. He enjoyed NASCAR and has raced at the La Crosse Speedway. Jerry is survived by his wife Rebecca; children Zachary and Madison; mother Madonna Buros (Gary Everson) of Soldiers Grove; brother Jason (Kristy) of Westby; sister Krista Buros (Billy Everson) of Viroqua; niece Kori; nephew Bailey; maternal grandmother Rita Clark; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Arden, July 31, 1982; stepfather Ron Buros on March 6, 2001; paternal grandparents Eileen and Lawrence Mikkelson; and maternal grandfather Bernard Clark.Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Viroqua. Father Robert J. Cook will officiate with burial in Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (Hwy 56), in Viroqua. Friends may also call on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. to the time of the service. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials are preferred.
