Jerry Dilley, age 83, of Gays Mills, passed away peacefully doing what he loved to do on Saturday, November 22, 2025. He was born on October 15, 1942, to the late Ira Dilley and Doloris Fern-Copus. Jerry went to Blue River High School and then joined the Army. After the Army, he moved to Racine, Wisconsin, where he met and married Darlene Ruby Baker, with whom he had four children: Janette (Steve), Randy (Susan), Daniel (Carla), and David (Amy). He was a union carpenter for 30-plus years. He also had a hobby farm with animals and was an avid gardener. He enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing, bowling, horseshoes and feeding the birds. Jerry enjoyed all sports, especially the Packers, Brewers, Badgers and Bucks. He loved visiting the casino. Jerry hosted many events, pig roasts, parties, family gatherings, etc.
Survivors include his children; his grandchildren, Brigitte (Jason), Ashley (Carl), Kristi (Alex), Katelyn (Matthew), Michael (Arielle), Justin, Sarah, and Declan (Elizabeth); his great-grandchildren, Alex, Ayssa, Reagan, Ryan, Marley, Rowan, Jack, and David; his sisters, Wanda and Linda; and his brothers Willard, David, and Duane.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene (Baker); his brother, Larry; his sisters, Luciel, Doloris, and Leila; and his grandson, Randy Wayne, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are preferred, which will be designated toward a local veteran organization.
A Memorial Service will be held at Noon on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Vosseteig Funeral Home in Gays Mills. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A luncheon will follow at the Gays Mills American Legion McCormick Rose Post 308.
