Jerry Odean Vikemyr

Beloved husband and father, Jerry Odean Vikemyr, age 59 of Viroqua, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, August 26, 2006 at Vernon Memorial Hospital. Jerry was born on March 19, 1947 to Odean "Odin" Emmanuel Vikemyr and Elizabeth Lou (Sidie) Vikemyr in Viroqua, Wisconsin. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethel Lutheran Church. He graduated from Viroqua High School in 1965, and attended the University of Wisconsin, Stout for one year. Jerry served in the Army as an Air Traffic Controller for three years, and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was married to Victoria Lee Blegen on April 18, 1970. They were blessed by a daughter, Milisa Ruth Santilli (husband - Marco); and a son, Aaron Jerry Vikemyr (wife - Amanda). In addition, Jerry "Bo" Vikemyr is survived and will be missed by his mother, Elizabeth Vikemyr; brothers: James (Sara) Vikemyr, and Michael (Pam) Vikemyr; and sister, Jenifer (Gary) Nundahl. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-law: Vaughn (Barb) Lahr, Marjorie Blegen, Michael (Jan) Sponholtz, and Bruce (Lori) Blegen; nephews: Chad (Melissa) Vikemyr, Matthew (Teresa) Nundahl, Wade Vikemyr, Josh (Jenny) Nundahl, Joe Vikemyr, Jedidiah Scharschmidt, Jacob, and Matthew Blegen; and nieces, Colette (Joe) Theisen, Lisa (Ben) Johnson, Angie Nundahl, and Katie Nundahl; as well as six great-nephews and four great-nieces. He will be welcomed by Our Lord, and was preceded in death by: his father-in-law, Arnold (Bud) Blegen; father, Odean "Odin" Vikemyr; uncle, Maynard James Vikemyr; twin nieces: Pamela and Patricia Torgerson; and a nephew, Seth Emmanuel Vikemyr. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church with Pastor Lori Kleppe officiating. Burial, with military rites by Viroqua VFW Post #3032, will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (Hwy 56) in Viroqua. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
