John A. Markiewicz

John Anthony Markiewicz, born October 7th, 1943, passed away on October 26th, 2023. Born in Chicago, IL, to Mary and Joseph Markiewicz, he was a cherished brother, uncle, neighbor, and friend, whose spirit and warmth will be missed.

John was educated at St. Rita High School in Chicago, IL. Following his education, he began his career at Sears Roebuck. However, his true passion lay in the great outdoors, which led him to make a significant lifestyle change. Alongside his brother, Michael, he embarked on a new journey as a dairy farmer when his family moved to De Soto, WI. For the better part of 30 years, John and Michael ran a successful dairy farm, an endeavor that John found incredibly rewarding. His love for the outdoors, the animals, and the country life was palpable to all who knew him.

In his later years, John sold the farm but continued to live and work there, always finding time to appreciate the simple pleasures in life. He was known for his unyielding kindness and his love for loyal dogs, newborn calves, beautiful sunsets, and the night sky full of stars. His jolly demeanor and genuine interest in others made him a beloved figure in his community.

John was also a devoted uncle who always made time to visit his nieces. The world will be a little quieter without his standard greeting of "How ya doin', How ya doin'?" and wherever he is now, we know he is just "Bouncin' along". Beloved Brother, Uncle, Neighbor, Friend - he will be missed.

John is survived by his sister, Margaret Bade and three nieces: Beckie (Steve Post) Kuipers, Amy (Eric) Quade, and Josie (Dan) Kristiansen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary (Cienkus) Markiewicz and his brother, Michael Markiewicz.

At this time, no services are planned for John.
