John W. Schneider

John W. Schneider, age 60 of rural DeSoto, died Sunday, March 2, 2008. John W. Schneider, 60, of De Soto, Wis., and formerly of McHenry County, died unexpectedly Sunday, March 2, 2008, at his home. He was one of the good guys. He was born July 13, 1947, at Sherman Hospital in Elgin, to Golda (Meyer) and Frederick Schneider Sr. He lived most of his life in McHenry County and worked for W. Smith Cartage for 27 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 301. Survivors include his wife, Donna (Schlofner) Schneider of De Soto; his sons, Martin Schneider of Crystal Lake, Michael Schneider of Arizona, Matthew (Mary) Schneider of Chicago and Paul Swolley of McHenry; two grandchildren, Edward Owen Schneider and Willa June Schneider of Chicago; his sisters, Kathy (Harry) Rydquist of Fox Lake, Wis., and Pat Kofsky of Atlanta; and his brother, Frederick (Kathy) Schneider Jr. of Arizona. Services will be Sunday, July 13, at his home in De Soto. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of DeSoto is serving the family.
