Jolene I. Blanchette Molstad

Jolene I. (Blanchette) Molstad, 64, of La Farge, died on Monday, June 10, 2013. Jolene I. (Blanchette) Molstad, 64, of La Farge, passed away at her daughters home on Monday, June 10, 2013 in Onalaska. She was born on July 19, 1948, at St. Anthony Hospital in Milwaukee to Alphonse and Dorothy (Suttley) Blanchette. She attended Mother of Perpetual Help private school in Milwaukee, Edison Junior High and graduated from Custer High School, all in Milwaukee. On August 20, 1966, she was united in marriage to Garry P. Molstad originally from Sparta, for 40 years. She owned and operated a tavern with her husband then farmed for 11 years and periodically bought, remodeled, and sold realty. She traveled the U.S. with her husband in his semi-truck a few summers, and then worked at Vernon Manor nursing home from 1989 to 2006. She was an active member of the Faith United Methodist Church on Salem Ridge. She loved her family and enjoyed homemaking, animals, traveling, sewing, baking and laughter. Jolene is survived by two sons, Dennis of Holmen and Phillip (Jenny) of Holmen; one daughter, Renee (Wayne) Valk of Onalaska; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; six brothers, Victor of Menomonee Falls, Mark (Barb) of Colgate, Guy of Brookfield, Lance (Windy) of California, Brian of Arizona, and Josh (Patti) of Saukville. She has two sisters, Althea (Frank) Wierzba of Wittenberg and Fay sister/aunt of Wittenberg. Jolene was preceded in death by her husband Garry; and her parents. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Faith United Methodist Church on Salem Ridge. Pastor George Schick will officiate with burial in Big Creek Cemetery rural Sparta. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Main, in Westby. Friends may also call at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
