Jon M. Haun, age 64 of Viroqua, died Sunday, April 12, 2009. Jon Michel Haun, age 64, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2009. Jon was born on February 4, 1945 in Viroqua to Murrel M. "Mungo" and Geraldine E. "Jerry" (Olson) Haun. He was baptized at the Viroqua Lutheran Church on May 24, 1945 and confirmed in 1960. He attended school in Viroqua. Jon held a variety of jobs over the years. He was currently employed by Vernon Area Rehabilitation Center (VARC) in Viroqua and the clientele that he worked with there were very fond of him, and he of them. Jon enjoyed watching sports and was a Packer and Brewer fan. He also enjoyed attending the La Crosse Logger games. Jon was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and the Viroqua Eagles Club and enjoyed spending time with his many friends at the club. Jon will be remembered by many as a huge Elvis fan and gathered quite a collection of Elvis Memorabilia over the years. One of the very special trips in his life was his trip to Graceland with his dad. Jon married Sheila Wiser on May 27, 1972. They were later divorced. Jon is survived by his daughter, Kari (Marsha Wohlwend) of West Salem; brothers: William L. "Bill" Haun and Richard A. "Rick" (Deb) Haun of Viroqua; sister, Nancy J. (Dan) Thompson of Viroqua; uncles J. Gary (Marge) Olson of La Crosse and Elwin Harris of Schofield; Aunt Sue Olson of Sparta, aunt Alice Midtlien of Arizona; niece Kaila Langrehr of La Crosse; nephews: Aaron J. (Heidi) Cade of Viroqua and Kyle Nelson of Onalaska; several cousins; and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal and paternal grandparents; cousin, Sandra E. (Olson) Hanson and several aunts and uncles. Jons generosity will continue on as an organ donor after his death. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends and will live in our hearts forever. Blessed be our memory of Jon Michel Haun. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua. The Rev. Lindsay Paul Jordan will officiate with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (Hwy 56) in Viroqua. Friends may also call at the church on Thursday after 10:00 a.m. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
