Joseph Bernard Kearney

Joseph Bernard Kearney, age 84, of Viroqua, passed away peacefully April 3, 2024, at Vernon Manor. He was born on November 21, 1939, in Viroqua to Lawrence and Ethel (Leahy) Kearney. He loved to deer hunt and spend time outdoors. Joseph worked for Chrysler Corporation for a few years before moving back to Viroqua and working for several area farmers part time.

Survivors include his siblings, John (Michaelene) Kearney of Janesville, Thomas Kearney, of Florida, Therese Fortney of West Salem, and Dennis (Bonnie) Kearney of Viroqua; and many nieces and nephews.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, William Kearney, Lawrence (Mary Lou) Kearney Jr.; his sister, Mary (Ronald) Hirschfield.

Memorials in memory of Joseph are appreciated to St. James Catholic Cemetery in Rising Sun.

A Funeral Service will be held at Noon on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Fr. Joe Richards will officiate. Burial will follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Rising Sun. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.vossfh.com.
