Joseph Patrick PrestonJuly 9, 2005 Joseph Patrick Preston, age 85 of Mt. Sterling and formerly of Bridgeview, ILL, died Saturday, July 9, 2005 in Mt. Sterling. He was born on September 16, 1919 in Chicago, Ill to Joe and Mary (Flannigan) Preston. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and had been an amateur boxer. He was married to Margie Ann Gay and they lived in Bridgeview, Ill where Joseph was a founding member of the Bridgeview Police Dept. serving for 25 years. He then worked as an electrician for Youngs Spring and Wire and then Electromotors, retiring at age 70. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Norris of Viroqua; two granddaughters: Sheila (Patrick) Rodriguez of DeSoto and Hillary Norris of Viroqua; and five great-grandchildren: David, Garrit and Max Rodriguez, John Sullivan, and Alex Norris. In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his wife; his twin brother, Billy Preston and his sister, Rita Carlson. Graveside services will be held in Willow Springs, Illinois.
