Joshua John Ellefson, age 24, of Verona, WI, and formerly of Ferryville, WI, died Tuesday, August 4, 2020. He was born August 28, 1995, at Gundersen Lutheran in La Crosse to Randy and Jean (Brudos) Ellefson, the second of three sons. Josh was baptized at Utica Lutheran Church. He attended North Crawford Schools, graduating with honors in 2013, and received his B.S. Degree in Economics at UW-Madison in May 2017. The day of his college graduation, Josh left on a several week European trip with two of his closest friends, Bailey and Aubrey Stevenson. Josh’s work ethic began early in life as a lifeguard at the Gays Mills pool, an employee of the Marketplace and BAPI; he often went directly from one job to the next. He was often complimented by customers when he offered to carry their groceries. Josh established a reputation for dependability, striving to do his best and look his best. He was a perfectionist. He excelled at whatever goals he set for himself and had successfully accomplished so much at his young age. Growing up in rural Crawford County, Josh appreciated the beauty of his surroundings, recently telling his Mom that the woods behind his current house reminded him of “home.” Josh’s first employment after college was Epic in Verona for two years. He traveled extensively to Washington D.C. and New York, giving presentations and he received a letter from the company owner stating he was one of the Top Ten new employees. Currently working as an IT project manager for General Health Cooperative for one year, he was well liked, organized and competent. Josh was gifted in so many ways. He was generous and kind, loved to read, spend time with his family and friends. Josh loved his family and his newest pet dog, Lizzie. Survivors include his parents, Randy and Jean; his brothers Jerad and Joel; his aunts and uncles: Ron and Nancy Castle, Lew and Laurie Ellefson, Anne Ellefson, Barb Quamme, Todd and Becky Brudos; his cousins: Teresa (Mark) Youmanns, Chris (Darren) Johnson and families, Nicole (Jeremy), Sophie and Gabby Johnson, Aaron Quamme, Linn (Jeff) Lincoln and Lauren Vandenberghe, Kay and TJ Brudos, Lysianne Peacock and Lyrica Marks; his great-aunts and uncle Merlin and Francille Kvigne and LaVonne Barlow; his special Pre-K to the present friends: Aubrey and Bailey Stevenson, Traci (Lund) Davis, Makenzie (Swiggum) McCauley and Natasha Swiggum; and his dog, Lizzie.
