Joshua Edward Pigney 37, of Westby, WI, has taken his final victory lap. Born on May 23, 1988, in Illinois, Josh’s journey through life was as thrilling as a motorcycle race, filled with twists and turns. He crossed the finish line of life on June 29, 2025, in Holmen, WI.
Josh was the cherished son of William and Susan (Turner) Pigney, who instilled in him the values of love, kindness, and a touch of mischief. His family was always there to support him through every race and every challenge. Josh was a caring son, a protective brother, and a loyal friend. He had a special way to always make people laugh, even at the most inappropriate times, and he never missed an opportunity to ruin a family photo with a goofy face.
Throughout his life, Josh worked various jobs, most recently at Rockland Flooring, but his heart belonged to the roar of engines and the smell of motor oil. He had a natural talent for racing, and his need for speed made him a formidable presence on the track. His love for motor sports was not just a hobby; it was a passion that fueled his zest for life. His heart was most full when he was on the track and the impact he had on the racing community is a legacy that will not soon be forgotten. Those who knew Josh will remember him as the kind of guy who lived life on the edge but always took the time to appreciate the scenery. Josh certainly never lost his spark, and it’s that very spark that will continue to light up the lives of those who knew him. As we bid farewell, let’s not say goodbye, but see you later. He lived as he raced—full throttle and with a heart wide open.
Josh is survived by his parents, William and Susan of Westby, WI; two sisters, Meghan (Cory) Goodsell and their son Graham and daughter Parker; Jenna (Andrew) Cousins and son Wyatt; girlfriend and love of his life, Mary; grandfather, Harry Pigney; along with many other relatives and dear friends.
Josh was preceded in death by his grandparents Bill and Judy Turner and Patricia Pigney.
