LaCrosse / WESTBY Joyce Anne Weiby, age 80 of Shelby, died Friday May 26, 2017. Joyce Anne Weiby, age 80 of Shelby, died Friday May 26, 2017 at Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua. Joyce was born in Edina MN to Maxwell and Mabel (Hovland) Weiby on April 30, 1937. After graduating high school Joyce went on to get her duel BA in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Wisconsin in LaCrosse. Joyce was a very caring, giving and compassionate woman who believed being nice to everyone was truly the only way to go through life. Her interests included reading, with a passion for history, politics and astrology. She loved animals, especially her companion, her big orange cat Tigger. The thing she loved most in life was family time, particularly that spent with her grandchildren. She is survived today by: her sons Christopher (Faye) Stiehm of Anchorage AK, and David Stiehm of Shelby WI, four grandchildren Laticia, Desiree, Melissa and Cameron, numerous great-grand children and a sister Marcia (Jerry) Keyser of Berkley CA., and a sister-in-law Ruth Weiby. Joyce was preceded in death by: her parents, a sister Carol Bohlig and a brother David Weiby. A visitation and Celebration of Life for Joyce will be held at the Vosseteig Funeral Home in Westby on Friday June 2, 2017 from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. Friends and Family are welcome, as her sons David and Christopher Stiehm will host and co-officiate the evenings event.
