Juanita Edith Fisher age 94, of Viroqua, WI died Friday, February 16, 2007 Juanita Edith Fisher age 94, of Viroqua, WI died Friday, February 16, 2007 at Vernon Manor. She was born April 7, 1912 to Hassan V. and Leona (Wilt) Widner. She attended grade school in Avalanche and attended Westby High School for 2 years and then graduated from Viroqua High School in 1930. She married Donald Marion Fisher on March 7, 1931 in Caledonia, MN. Juanitas many achievements included raising her children through The Great Depression. She was creative, crafty and artistic in every aspect of her life. She had a passion for sewing, gardening, painting, and dancing. Her faith in Christ was simple and honest. She worked as a Secretary for the Viroqua Church of Christ, managed the Coulee Community Action Program Thrift Shop and also served as executive secretary for many years. She was an avid 4H leader, Sunday School Teacher, part of Womens Relief Corp, and Sweet Adelines Womens Chorus. In recent years she worked beside her friend, Leif Harpestad as a volunteer for the Vernon County Nutrition and Aging Units. She dedicated her life to serving others. Survivors include her beloved special friend, Leif Harpestad of Westby, WI. Her surviving children Vincent Eugene (Barbara) Fisher of Lancaster; LaVonna Jane (Thomas) Fortney of Viroqua; Donald H (Linda) Fisher of Viroqua; Hollis Fisher of Oshkosh and Sheila K. Fisher, daughter-in-law (Harlan Fisher-deceased). She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Evelyn (Darrell) Sandmire. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Elaine (Norman) Skundberg of Fon du Lac, WI; and her eldest son, Harlan Fisher. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 19, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Viroqua Church of Christ. Pastor Nathan Prong will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday afternoon from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (Hwy 56) in Viroqua. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
