Judith "Judy" Tally

Judith (Judy) Tally, age 77, of Viroqua passed away peacefully at home on October 30, 2021. She was born in Viroqua on December 25, 1943, to the late Burns and Ruth Morrison. She attended Viroqua High School, Madison Teacher’s College, and WWTC from which she earned a degree in accounting. She married Winston Tally on January 21, 1967, and lived on the family farm. They had three daughters Bridget, Elizabeth (Beth), and Aimee. Over the years, Judy helped on the family farm and co-owned a trucking company with her husband. Judy was best known for her love of cooking for her family and friends, and no gathering or holiday went by without a large spread of her food that was made with love from her heart. She had a special knack for making recipes that no one else could quite copy, but we’ve all tried it! It is an accomplishment if you could get close to replicating her recipes. She was also well known for her quilting, knitting, and embroidery skills. She left each of her children and grandchildren a special blanket to wrap them in her love after she was no longer with us. She always had the coffee pot on, and no one was a stranger for long. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Winston; their three daughters, Bridget Tally-Brill of Waldo (Joel Brill), Elizabeth Quackenboss of Cambridge (Todd Quackenboss), and Aimee Lempke of Grafton (Matt Lempke); and seven grandchildren, Zach and Hailee Brill, Emma and Neil Quackenboss, Mason, Gavin, and Addison Lempke. She is further survived by her sisters Sue Moran (Tim Moran deceased), Sandra McGregor (Michael McGregor deceased), Christine Reed (Tony Reed), Bonnie Running (Richard Running), and Deborah Hanson (Jim Hanson) as well as many nieces and nephews and many other friends. Thank you to Campbell’s Healthcare workers who were wonderful to Judy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Belgium Ridge Cemetery. Judy’s legacy will live on thru her family cookbook and the many quilts and other projects that she made. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
