Judy Kluesner, age 76 of Viroqua, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009 . Judy Kluesner, age 76 of Viroqua, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at Vernon Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on October 19, 1932, in Glen Haven, Wisconsin, to Allen and Jeanette (Smith) Barr. Judy graduated from Bloomington High School and soon after, on October 18, 1950, was united in marriage to Robert J. Kluesner. Judy and Bob lived in Bloomington, Fennimore and Lancaster before eventually settling for good in Viroqua in 1952. Judy was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church, a member of the Altar Society and a long-time volunteer at the St. Marys fall dinner. Judy lived a beautiful life, always giving of herself for others. She decorated her home for every holiday, but most enjoyed having all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with her for Christmas. Judy always found the time to visit older friends and neighbors, helping them with their errands or driving them to get their hair done. Even during her long battle with cancer, Judy asked her daughters to join her in the "Relay for Life" to help others battle their shared affliction. Judy worked a total of 38 years at Pries Apparel, JC Penney and Wal-Mart, alongside many, many great friends. We will always remember fondly the wild costumes she wore for Crazy Days. Judy saw many parts of the world, traveling to Australia, New Zealand, Alaska and the Virgin Islands. She also enjoyed many mini-vacations with her daughters and sisters. At home, Judy could be found relaxing in the evenings next to the warmth of her fire pit, surrounded by the beautiful flowers and landscaping she had spent a lifetime perfecting. She is survived by her four children: Nancy (Dean) Dieckman of Cashton, Vicky (Fred) Zitzner of Viroqua, Cheryl (Tim) Spaeth of Bloomington, and David (Elizabeth) Kluesner of Waunakee; 10 grandchildren: Zach and Jordan Dieckman; Kyle (Melanie) Zitzner, Rachel (Kevin) Harris, and Cody Zitzner; Tara (Jason) Hollander, Casey Mumm (and her fianc Tom Dubinski), Charlie Spaeth; and Katherine and Teddy Kluesner; two great-grandchildren: Sadie and Sam Hollander; Judys special friend, Jim Soltau of Viroqua; two sisters: Patricia Mumm and Bonnie Laufenberg; two brothers: Robert Barr and Tom Barr; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert on September 25, 1992; one brother, Glenn Barr; one sister, Mary Cooley; and her son-in-law, Richard Mumm.Blessed be our memory of Judy Kluesner.
