Listen to Obituary

Judith Ann Thomas, age 85, of Lake Havasu City, AZ, passed away on February 27, 2026, in Las Vegas, NV, after a short illness. A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, June 27, 2026, in Lake Havasu City, AZ, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, where Judy was an active member for over 25 years. A second Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 11:30 AM at the Viroqua Hills Golf Course in Viroqua, WI.

Judy was born to Art and Alice Swiggum in Ferryville, WI, on February 16, 1941. The first of 4 children, she lived in Wisconsin until she married Conrad Overbo and they moved to California. This is where she made her life for the next 40 years. She and Conrad had 3 children: Carmen, Brenda, and Adam. Judy was a hard worker who balanced her parenting duties while working full-time. After divorcing Conrad, Judy married Richard “Dick” Thomas and moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona. There, they built a home and a life that anyone would envy.

Judy loved to be involved and make a difference. She retired and became busier than ever with the church, the Moose Lodge, the Republican Women's Group, TOPS, the Judy Club, and the Red Hat Purple Dress club. Judy wasn't just a member of these groups; she was an active and engaged participant in each one, and a natural leader who could be counted on to step in and make decisions if needed. She was an amazing human being with a heart of gold, an undying faith in the Lord, and a smile that lit up the room.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her ex-husband, Conrad Overbo; and her husband, Dick Thomas.

Judy is survived by her children: Carmen and Jim Fuller, Brenda and Mark Milos, and Adam and Julie Overbo; her step-daughters: Christy Hartman and Cherie Gibbons; her sister, Sonja Fortney; her brothers: Lars (Mary) Swiggum, and Jeff (Lori) Swiggum; her grandchildren: Derk Ross, Travis Ross, Alyssa Delgado, Jordan Ross, Nicholas Milos, Craig Milos, Lauren Overbo, Tyler Overbo, Kenna Hartman, Colin Hartman, Ashley Gibbons, and Brian Gibbons; her great-grandchildren: Julian Milos, Ruby (Francis) Milos, Christopher Delgado, James Delgado, Caleb Milos, Oliver Ross, Maisie Ross, and hundreds of friends that were close enough to be family.
