June Elnor (Hovde) Anderson, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. June was born on June 6, 1930 to Elmer and Nora (Brendum) Hovde. She was united in marriage to Clifford Odell Anderson March 11, 1950. Together they made their home on a farm in Knapp Valley. June proudly worked along side Clifford farming and raising a family. She was a member of the Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church and WELCA. June was an awesome cook and always had "homemade treats" available for "coffee" time with friends and family. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She especially enjoyed their visits and time spent playing cards and "Mexican Train" with them. June is survived by her five daughters: Lynette (Richard) Johnson, Roxanne (Alan) Von Ruden, Brenda (Daniel) Snodgrass, Christine (Russell) Aarness, and Dawn Anderson, all of Westby; grandchildren: Bruce (Amanda) Von Ruden, Travis (Kimberly) Von Ruden, Jaymie Von Ruden, Stacy (Kerry) Tobin, Steven Snodgrass, and Justin Aarness (Chelsie Nundahl); step grandson, Shawn (Anne) Snodgrass; great-grandchildren, Emma and Brody Von Ruden; as well as several very special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister and brother in law, Iona (Verdell) Blihovde; sisters-in-law: Alice (Albert) Widner and Gladys (Tennie) Myhre; son-in-law, Daniel Fisher; grandson, Corey Aarness; and several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Dr. David Chakoian who gave mom exceptional care, kindness, and understanding, the staff at Vernon Memorial Hospital (Doctors, Nurses, CNAs and Respiratory Therapists), and the home healthcare professionals. God Bless her and blessed be her memory. Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Monday, January 23, 2017 at the Country Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor Julie Wollman will officiate with burial to follow in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call from 1-3pm on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the Vosseteig Funeral Home in Westby. Friends may also call at the church from 10 am till the time of service at 11. In lieu of plants or flowers, memorials may be directed to the Country Coon Prairie Preservation Fund.
