Kathleen �Kathy� Jeanne Bakkestuen Buchholtz

Kathleen "Kathy" Jeanne (Bakkestuen) Buchholtz, age 44 died Thursday, November 23, 2006 as the result of an automobile accident. She was born on February 18, 1962 in LaCrosse to Cyrus and Lorraine (Bekkum) Bakkestuen. She graduated from Westby High School in 1980, attended WWTI in LaCrosse and graduated from the LaCrosse School of Beauty. She worked as a cosmetologist and in customer service at the Company Store in LaCrosse for 15 years prior to her current job with Chart Heat Exchangers in LaCrosse. On March 17, 2006 she was united in marriage to Willard Buchholtz. In addition to her husband, Willard, she is survived by her mother, Lorraine Bakkestuen of Westby; one brother Mark of Westby; one sister Cheryl of Clinton, Iowa; step-daughter, Kimberly Buchholtz; mother-in-law, Fern Buchholtz; sister and brothers-in-law; aunts; uncles; cousins; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Cyrus, on May 3, 1991; her grandparents, Ingman and Nina Bakkestuen and Otis and Edna Bekkum; uncles, Wallace Bekkum and Kenneth Bekkum; an aunt, Irene (Bakkestuen) Midtlien; and a cousin, Lisa Midtlien. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Vang Lutheran Church, rural Westby. Pastor Dennis Hallemeier will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Serving as Casket Bearers are: Jeff Buchholtz, Eric Buchholtz, Greg Bakkestuen, Michael Haakenson, Jeff Seiler, and Steve Nofsinger. Honorary Casket Bearers are: Gary Bekkum, Steve Bekkum, Bill Stuckey, Len Schnick, Joe Bernhardt, Jeff Strasser, Garold Buchholtz, Gale Buchholtz, and Ronald Buchholtz. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
