Kathleen 'Kathy' Hanssen, age 66 of Viroqua, died Sunday, April 12, 2009. Kathleen M. "Kathy" Hanssen, age 66, of Viroqua, WI, previously of Brooklyn Park, MN, died on April 12, 2009 after a short battle with lung and bone cancer. She is survived by her mother, Marion Westlund; sister, Cheryl Larson; brother, Richard Westlund (Jeannie); daughters Debora Hanssen-Robinson (Stu Robinson) and Wendy Hanssen (fiance David Stephenson). Also survived by former husband and friend, Jim Goldammer; best friend, Faye Weatherwax; neighbors Steve and Kaela Firebaugh and their children Max and Ray whom she loved as her own grandchildren, and numerous friends and family from Madison, WI, Viroqua, WI and Cloquet, MN. Preceded in death by father, Arnold T. Westlund, an infant brother and first husband, William D. Hanssen. Kathy, a retired postal worker for the Maple Grove post office, was a talented arts and crafts enthusiast, an avid gardener and animal lover. She will be missed by all of those who new her. A private family service will be held with burial in Cloquet, MN at a later date. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua, Wis. is serving the family.
